Our Story
Melior Bikes was founded by Nick Thompson in 2019 and has since been able to help and support the cycling community during the difficult present times.
Nick had been an avid road cyclist for many years, competing in sportives, time trials and then some multisport events. During this period Nick's professional and personal life took an unexpected turn meaning that he gained the rare gift of time. There is only so much time that cycling can take up each day and so Nick looked for another hobby. Life can lead you down some unusual paths but in this case the path was circular and so Nick was lead straight back to cycling, but this time as a bike mechanic. In 2011, Nick acheived his Cytech Level 2 qualification and began working on his friends' and families' bikes. Such high quality was the work that he found himself rectifying newly purchased bikes that had come straight from some suppliers! Additionally, Nick now works in tandem with the reputable local bike shop Rick Green Cycles of Handforth, established in 1982.
The Melior Bikes branding stems from the Melior Group, a highly successful sports facilities construction company, founded in 2016 by Nick's son, Xavier.
